For many years, I've known about University Book Search, a site for buying second hand copies of OU course materials and study packs rather more cheaply than you can get them for new on the OU Worldwide site. (It costs more again to take the actual course, or course...)
One of the nice things about University Book Search is the way it uses OU course codes in page URLs to display second hand materials that are available for a particular course (for example, here's what's available for A103), and as we all know, using OU course codes in URLs is one of our web presence crown jewels.
But I'd never thought of looking to eBay as a source of old OU course materials, until a chance comment made at an OU awayday workshop about finding secondhand OU materials there...
So I had a quick peak to see what a search on eBay for open university course turned up, and it does indeed turn up quite a few old courses in the Educational/Textbooks area.
Methinks I need to go and have a look at the eBay API, and maybe see about listing second hand course units on the Openlearnigg course listings ;-)
