Yahoo Search Builder
The main item of news this week in the world of personalised search is the Yahoo search builder, which lets you assemble your own search engine - like Rollyo - out of a list of domains you provide it with. One nice extension over the Rollyo is the ability to add in set of keywords to further narrow the search.
Here's a handful of screenshots about the search engine building process.
First off, define what you want to search over (there's also a 'search this site' option - the customisation is for the web search):

Rollyo also mde some announcements last week about their new features, including a new roll bar, a bookmarklet loaded overlay that taps into your own Rollyo searchrolls:
Rollyo still don't seem to offer PageLinks search other, which I first mooted ages ago as Rollyo portable and then seem to have actaully built: Search pageLinks bookmarklet. Hmm - I'd forgotten that one...
But I haven't forgotten these, a couple of my other previous efforts at customised/personalised, and indeed bounded search:
- - search the links contained in a username/tag defined delicious feed; or embed the search as an embeddable further reading list search;
- persistent news search OPML feedroller - generate an OPML feedroll of searches across several news search engines, and view the results via an OPML browser (described in more detail here).
I was tinkering with newest and most exciting doodle - searchfeedr - earlier this evening. If all goes to plan, it'll be the next post on this blog in an hour or two... here it is: the searchfeedr announcement...and searchfeedr itself...
