For a long time there has been an informal Wikiversity project Wikibooks, but this week a full blown Wikiversity project has been announced via a presentation at the Wikimania conference (reviewed here):
Wikiversity - center for creation and use of free learning materials and activities (learning objects, books, lectures, etc.). Also host learning communities. 6-month beta trial period coming up very soon (within the month).
Would a partnership make sense?
Would a quiet release of a fraction of the content intended for OCI into the Wikiversity be an interesting thing to try out, to see how the content is engaged with in the Wikimedia environment?
Hmm - depending on the license conditions that OCI content will appear under when the site goes live in October, maybe any old user could copy the content across?
PS I wonder if Wikiversity will support a content upload and reuse API? I wonder if OCI will?
