I was shocked to find in my email this morning the sad news that Jacquie Bennett, active member of the eLearning community and a passionate advocate of ways in which Second Life might be used to support the OU mission on CETLment Island and elsewhere, had died whilst away at a conference.
Jacquie Bennett was a tutor on T171 and then T175 in R03, but many of you will have come across her in other roles such as conference moderator, COLMSCT research associate, Second Life enthusiast and much else besides. We were shocked to hear that she died suddenly and unexpectedly from a brain haemorrhage whilst at a conference in Austria earlier this week. She was there presenting some of the work she had done with the OU on using Second Life for teaching and learning - she went to bed with a headache and was found by hotel staff the next morning. She leaves a husband and two young children.Posted by ajh59 at September 30, 2007 02:25 PM
My condolences. My dad went the same way, complained of a headache. Very fast.
