An email from Microsoft alerted me to their take on mapping the Foot and Mouth outbreak, presumably given I haven't referenced them in my previous posts on the topic (such as this one on adding weather information to the emergency map):
Foot and mouth zones on Microsoft Live Maps
I can't get the 3D view to work on my Mac, even on XP under Parallels 3, so if anyone can let me have a screen shot of that, it would be appreciated.
I haven't really looked at Live maps before, but they do seem to provide a set of drawing tools so you can create your own overlays.
It also looks like you can add pushpins from the Collections menu, though, and save them if you are signed in to a live.com account.
The feed from the map provides a GeoRSS view of the map, which is handy; it seems to work in Google maps, too, after a fashion (not all the pins appear) ;-)
Maybe I need to take have a bit of a play with this...

Your link for Microsoft doesn't work for me, but the Google one does.
That about says it all, I think.
