The primary source used for this project was the British Newspaper Archive. Although operated by the British Library, it a as subscription service (£80 a year).

Newspaper searches for Welsh newspapers are provided for free by the National Library for Wales, The national Library of Wales also provides a free Welsh journal search too.

Historical company information can be found using Grace’s Guide To British Industrial History.

Historical image search sites include the US Library of Congress, although license restrictions may apply. I also made use of the picryl public domain media collection. The UK National Archives provide images for a fee and under commercial license. The British

A collection of ship plans is held by the Royal Maritime Museum at Greenwich. You can search the collecetion via an advanced websearch, for example: eurydice site:prints.rmg.co.uk/collections/ship-plans.

To find maps, I made use of Old Maps Online.

For historical books and journals, I use the Internet Archive.
