Heads Up - Embeddable Google Charting

I'm supposedly on holiday today, but I thought i'd have a quick play with the Data Visualization Google Gadgets to see if I could get them working... but I couldn't...

(If you haven't seen notice of these gadgets, Google has quietly released a set of feed powered data visualisation widgets/gadget - bar charts, line charts, organisational charts, and a Gapminder/trendalyzer like widget among others - but no-one can work out how to get them working!)

Anyway, like many others, I tried to feed data into one of these widgets from a Google chart, which was when i noticed this on the Google spreadsheet toolbar: 2008-02-18_1538

A chart tool....? How very interesting... :-)

The charts are all publishable and embeddable:

They are also fed live from the spreadsheet. Here's an example of an embedded chart:

From the image URL, you can see how it is feed powered:

The key refers to a particular spreadsheet, I think, and I'm guessing (without the trivial test) that oid is the chart identifier within a spreadsheet?

Something I've not really looked at before are the range of feed options from a spreasheet:

Ho hum, yet more things to play with...

PS if you get any of the Google chart gadgets working, particularly the trendalyzer one, please let me know how! :-)
