Emergency Maps Via Geo-Twitter

Putting together the Barack Obama Campaign Trail Twitter Map just now, I vaguely recalled this post by John Tropea on Twitter Hashtags and Emergency 2.0, in which he talked about:

some kind of emergency/disaster website that streams Twitter hashtags, Flickr Tags, and YouTube tags ... perhaps this is something Technorati could specialise in. Why not throw in a wiki and maps as well.

I've not started trying to think through a good way of mashing different services together, but there's some really lo hanging fruit in terms of cloning the geotwitter pipe and using it to plot tweets disovered using an RSS search feed (is it an opensearch feed, I wonder?) from Terraminds:
