OU Regional Offices on Google Maps

Stuart just tipped me off to the presence of a KML file that lists the locations of the OU regional offices on this new looking page: What's the OU all about? Here's the link: OU Regional Offices (Google Maps), OU Regional Offices (KML))

I started to tinker with an OU campus map too (OU Campus map (Google maps) (KML, but it's way too clunky at the moment).

I also did myself a private map overlay with the new Yahoo MapMixer which lets you upload and overlay your own map on top of Yahoo maps, then embed the result in your own page.

I'd post a link, but as I 'stole' the campus map, a screenshot will have to suffice.

Producing the mix was trivial - simply upload your map, zoom in to a Yahoo map to where you want to place the overlay, then pick two points on the uploaded map and two corresponding locations on the Yahoo map. The MapMix app wil then do the rest :-)

You'll notice that the campus map is not quite to scale - the roundabouts at the bottom should overlap, for example, but with only two sighting points - and no stretch transformations of the uploaded image - an executive decision on the placement was called for!

Setting the level of transparency is also exposed as a public/user control on the map, which is a neat touch, I think...
