Ok - so maybe a PLE is a platform...?
...and maybe a candidate platform is Facebook (developer info)?
The main idea is that Facebook will bve exposing third party apps through the Facebook website. MySpace on steroids, MySpace done right, etc. etc.

Read about it, err, everywhere at the moment: e.g. here or here, or here etc...
Now if they were also to integrate the Zoho suite of apps, that really would be something... it'd be almost as good as Stringle!?;-)
(I have a post in prep on Zoho at the moment. You want an integrated Web O/S - they're as close as anyone...)
