Internal readers will probably know that the OU has a presence in Second Life, on Cetlment Isle (search the groups if you want to get there...).
I haven't been in for a bit (can't stand the 10 minute download each time, hate the latency on the interface, etc etc) but I think I get an inkling of how we're going to use the space... ;-)

Hmmm... what really gets me about Second Life is that there are several people here in the OU being given time and resource to look at it...
...whereas there are dozens of other "web 2.0" tools, apps and approaches that could potentially offer real benefit to students now that aren't being looked at, that aren't being explored/played with, that aren't having resource allocated to their development.
