A lazy post this one - the OpenLearn search tool now searches the content of all OpenLearn units (although as far as I know no RSS/web feed of results is available - something I'll try to knock up using Dapper when I get a chance...;- )
One thing the results page doesn't show is a 'sponsored/paid for' panel containing links to associated results from the OU courses/prospectus search, which is perhaps missing a trick, methinks?
Wikiseek also just launched, allowing users to search content culled from Wikipedia and the sites linked to from Wikipedia, so it should be relatively spam free.
Sourcing high quality content is desirable when trying to pull together course remixes, something that a few of us are thinking around with respect to rapidly remixed OpenLearn courses and Open2 content that might (informally) support OU/BBC co-produced broadcasts.
On which related point seems to be something complementary to what the BBC Backstage folks are trialling with Five Live, looking at 'web2.0' ways of engaging radio listeners in real time feedback to - and agenda setting of - news items...
Sleevenotez was (is) an interesting idea that provides 'realtime info for your music', pulling album covers, song lyrics, discographies and suchlike from third party webservices according to what you are currently listening to on last.fm. I wonder if there's any traction in a similar service to augment live news?
