Is Google Custom Search OUseful?

Maybe...

Here are a few ways of using Google Custom Search that came immediately to my mind:

  1. For collecting links in a course team while a course is in production. We could do this with a social bookmarking tool, of course, but search is easier... and getting new domains into the search engine is just a case of bookmarking them, really...

  2. For providing a course search engine, in which all the external links mentioned in a course (particularly online courses) are used to prioritise results in an otherwise general Google search;

  3. As a place for students to contribute useful links to a course specific search engine. This might include links to tutorials and additional material discovered by the students.
