One of the ways that blogs and tags are influencing organisations who are aware of them is that some of the people who rant about, and some of the people who praise up, a particular company or service do so in public...
...which is why some web aware organisations keep an eye on the blogosphere (and tagosphere?!) to see what's being said about them....

You can easily search the Technorati site directly, or create a permalink to Technorati search Technorati for posts about www.open.ac.uk.
It's also possible to set up a watchlist that keeps track of new posts to Technorati on the subject of your search, and makes them available via an RSS feed.
